A fresh start
Right then, after recently Graduating from University of the West of England on July 20th 2012, and having a nice few months off, I happen to be completely bored and with only a part time job for now, I think it's worth keeping my new skills up together.
So let's plot a couple of notes for Trend reports that i've started keeping.
First, let's take a look at the year's events and where fashion is getting it's inspirations from:
2012
family Wii games
Pop star games
Dance games
Zumba

Loving 50's fashion !
ITV's This Morning has a feature today around the retro 1950's fashiion which is slowly filtering back onto catwalks and into our wardrobes.
I myself am loving this trend! For my own Graduate collection this year I took inspiration from corsetry and peplums with beautiful shapely dresses and skirts.
After years of innovative designs incorporating interesting silhouettes, it feels so fantastic and especially at this point in my life at the ripe age of 21, that fashion is now driving us back to girl power and celebrating our feminine forms! From Louisvuitton's Broderie Anglais fifties milk bar dresses to Prada's Grease Lightening print and hourglass hugging pencil skirts-
-I say, ROLL ON THE 50'S SIRENS!!!!!
For this trend we are taking influence from Goddess Marilyn, Rita Hayworth, Bettie Page, Dita Von Teese, Paloma Faith, Kelly Brook and even Hollie Willoughby for their different takes on this retro style boom!
We are seeing:
Ladylike teatime debutants
Showgirls and pin up glamour
